Daily Proverbs

The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:

for gaining wisdom and instruction;
for understanding words of insight;
for receiving instruction in prudent behavior,
doing what is right and just and fair;
for giving prudence to those who are simple,
knowledge and discretion to the young—
let the wise listen and add to their learning,
and let the discerning get guidance—
for understanding proverbs and parables,
the sayings and riddles of the wise.

Comment:

The purpose of the Book of Proverbs is laid out in the opening verses. They are simply designed to help the young and inexperienced understand how to live. They give general guidlines for life. If you’re looking for the instruction manual for life, the book of Proverbs is it. Of course, these are not promises or guarantees. Your mileage may vary. But if you follow the words of this instruction manual, you improve your odds of doing well in life, versus the person who chooses to ignore the manual until something goes wrong.
