Daily Proverbs

My son, pay attention to what I say;
turn your ear to my words.
Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart;
for they are life to those who find them
and health to one’s whole body.
Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.
Keep your mouth free of perversity;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
Let your eyes look straight ahead;
fix your gaze directly before you.
Give careful thought to the paths for your feet
and be steadfast in all your ways.
Do not turn to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil.

COMMENT:

Wisdom is more likely to bring health, prosperity and peace than any other lifestyle. If you wish to avoid problems and pain, then stay on the path of wisdom. Don’t wander away from it. As with the entire book of Proverbs, this is presented as the words of a father to his son. The father is giving his child his advise, based on his own experiences and observations. Children should listen to their parents; they used to be young; they know how it was and they really do understand. And parents simply wish to keep their children from suffering; they want them to be happy and well.
