Daily Proverbs

Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.

The Holy Bible : Today’s New International Version. 2005 (Pr 3:7–8). Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan.

COMMENT:

What does it mean to fear God? Here it means to be afraid of him, using that fear to keep you from doing the wrong thing. If you avoid evil, you have a better shot at staying alive and healthy. Police and angry husbands tend not to hunt down the righteous.
