Daily Proverbs

For the LORD gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.

COMMENT:

God takes care of his people; he gives them wisdom. And part of that wisdom is knowing that God is there and that he cares about the direction and content of our lives. As Peter wrote, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:6-7) There are many passages that encourage us to stop worrying and start trusting. Jesus, in Matthew: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life…” (Matthew 6:25). And “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:4-7).
